Help your dog navigate familiar spaces with more confidence. The Solaura Blind Dog Halo features a forward-extending bumper ring designed to contact some obstacles before your dog's face does. This non-electronic supplemental navigation aid is intended for supervised use by dogs experiencing vision loss.

Why Pet Parents Love the Concept

A padded neck support, adjustable body strap, and forward-facing bumper ring work together to offer a tactile cue near furniture and walls. Individual dogs may respond differently; the halo is not a substitute for a safe environment or supervision.

Find Your Dog's Size

Measure first — breed and weight are only rough starting points. Use a soft tape to measure (A) around the base of the neck and (B) the distance from the neck/collar position to the nose tip. Both measurements must fit your chosen size.

Size A: Neck circumference B: Neck-to-nose distance
XS 14–22 cm (5.5–8.7 in) under 18 cm (7.1 in)
S 18–26 cm (7.1–10.2 in) under 18 cm (7.1 in)
M 22–30 cm (8.7–11.8 in) under 21 cm (8.3 in)
L 24–33 cm (9.4–13 in) under 26 cm (10.2 in)
XL 32–40 cm (12.6–15.7 in) under 30 cm (11.8 in)
2XL 40–49 cm (15.7–19.3 in) under 33 cm (13 in)

Breed examples (not fit guarantees): XS/S may fit some Chihuahuas and toy breeds; S/M may fit some Yorkies, Shih Tzus or Pugs; M/L may fit some French Bulldogs, Beagles or Cocker Spaniels; XL/2XL may fit some larger dogs. Breed and weight do not reliably predict neck or muzzle dimensions, especially in flat-faced and broad-neck dogs. If your dog's measurements do not fit both columns, do not select based on weight alone.

How to Wear

Assemble the bumper ring as shown, secure it to the padded collar, place the collar around the neck, and adjust the support strap so that the ring extends in front of the muzzle without restricting normal movement. Introduce the halo gradually with praise and short supervised sessions. Check for rubbing or discomfort.

Important Safety Information

This is a supplemental tactile navigation aid, not protective headgear or a guarantee against impact or injury. It may miss obstacles, stairs, drop-offs or moving hazards. Do not use unsupervised or during sleep. Remove if your dog seems distressed. For new or worsening sight loss, contact your veterinarian.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will it restore my dog's vision? No. It does not treat blindness or improve eyesight.

How do I choose a size? Measure both neck circumference and neck-to-nose distance. Breed examples are only general references.

Will my dog adapt immediately? Not necessarily. Start with short supervised introductions, and never force your dog to wear it.

  • "I was skeptical. Truly. But after watching Biscuit struggle on the stairs for six months and spending $400 a month on vet laser sessions that only helped while we kept going, I was willing to try anything. Three weeks in I actually cried. He climbed onto the couch by himself for the first time in almost a year. We haven't missed a daily session since."

  • "I already use red light therapy on myself so when I saw this existed for dogs I ordered it the same day. Our 9-year-old Lab has hip dysplasia and I'd been wanting something more consistent than clinic visits. Six weeks in he's moving better than he has in two years. My husband was skeptical. He's the one who puts it on him every night now."

"Duke had TPLO surgery on his rear leg and recovery was going slower than his vet projected. A friend in a dog rehab group recommended red light therapy. We started the wrap at week three post-op. By week six his vet said she was genuinely surprised — he was ahead of every milestone she'd set. She asked me what we were doing differently."
